Where Can You Get an Application for a Gardena Business License?

If you would like to apply for a business license in person, you can visit the Permits and Licenses office in City Hall at 1700 West 162nd St, Gardena.  You can also print your application from the City of Gardena website.  There are four types of licenses to choose from, and you will need to choose the one that best fits your specific business.  If you have questions, or need assistance in determining which application best suits your business, contact the Permits and Licenses office at (310)217-6169. 

The general Gardenabusiness license will have a series of questions that will need to be answered throughly and accurately.  Some questions include what your are naming your business, the physical address of your business, and any contact information for your business.  You will need to supply the type of ownership information for your business, this means whether you are the sole proprietor, in a partnership, or part of a corporation.  You will need to post a start date for your business, which will help to calculate your fees and  to schedule inspections.  There is a space for you to provide a detailed description of the Gardena business you plan to operate.  The name of the owner, and all current contact information, social security number and a valid driver’s license will need to be submitted.  If it is applicable, you will need to submit a Federal Tax ID number, a state resale number and/or a state contractor’s number.  It is important that you provide the names of two persons who will act as emergency contacts in case of fire or police emergencies. 

Additionally, there is a supplemental questionnaire that will need to be filed to help determine your zoning clearance.  It is a short check box questionnaire that will help to determine what type of business you will be conducting, whether you will need additional permits and inspections to operate your business.
