Are You Getting Married in Deerfield Beach, Florida?

If you and your spouse to be are planning a wedding and wish to be married in Deerfield  Beach, you will need to visit one of the five branches of the Clerk of Courts Offices in Broward County together to apply for a marriage license.  The marriage license will cost $93.00 for couples that have not enrolled and completed a marriage preparedness course.  If you have completed a class, your cost for a marriage license in Deerfield Beach will be $61.00.  The class is not mandatory, and you may be charged to attend, depending on the course that you choose.  You may find a list of available providers for premarital preparation courses online from the Broward County website or by calling the Clerk of Courts Office at (954)831-6525 extension 7842.  Be sure that you have all the appropriate documentation for applying for your marriage license, including a photo ID and a social security number or alien registration number.  If you or your spouse to be is under the age of 18, you will need to bring a birth certificate bearing both your parents names, a signed parental consent form and any information regarding any children that you may have together.  Florida residents will have to observe a three day mandatory waiting period after they receive their marriage license before they can marry unless they have taken the premarital preparation course.  If both you and your intended spouse are not Florida residents, you will not be expected to observe the waiting period.
