We are planning our wedding in Norwalk, California. Where can we submit our application for a marriage license?

You can submit your application for a marriage license by going together in person to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s branch office headquarters in Norwalk. The office is located at 12400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, California 90650. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, but all marriage license applications must be submitted before 4 p.m. if you want to ensure same-day processing.

What requirements will we need to satisfy before we can get a marriage license in Norwalk?

You both of you need to be at least 18 years old, and you cannot be married to another person at the time of the application. You should be prepared to present a form of valid government-issued I.D. such as a driver’s license or passport in order to verify your age and identity.

Are blood tests necessary to apply for a marriage license in Norwalk?

Norwalk is a fantastic place to have a civil ceremony, because at the Norwalk office of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office there is an actual wedding chapel. You can request a civil ceremony as long as you have already obtained your marriage license. You will need to provide one or more witnesses. There is a $25 fee for a civil ceremony.
