Before applying for a business license, West Jordan recommends that you contact the Planning and Zoning Department to inquire about any possible additional requirements or restrictions. A Fire Department inspection is also required. The Fire Department can be reached at 801-260-7300. Beauty salons, nail salons, message therapy, food services, and health services like doctors and dentists require approval by the Utah Bureau of Food Protection or the Utah Bureau of Sanitation and Safety. If your business requires the disposal of pollutants, chemicals, oil, or grease, your application will also require approval by the South Valley Water Reclamation Facility.
