Turn in a completed business license application to the Taylorsville Business License Division. Applications can only be obtained from the Business License Division.
Pay all necessary fees.
Attend to all necessary inspections during the internal review process. All business license applications are subject to approval by the Taylorsville Planning and Zoning Division, Taylorsville Building Division, Police Department, Unified Fire Authority, and Salt Lake Valley Health Department.

How long does the Application Process Take?
Business licenses are usually issued 10-14 days after the application is received. The process may be longer for businesses dealing with food or cosmetology services. To make the application process as quick as possible, Taylorsville offers the following suggestions:
Contact the Taylorsville Planning and Zoning Division about the use and location of your business.
If you plan on making improvements to an existing building, contact the Taylorsville Building Division.
Contact the Salt Lake Valley Health Department for information regarding Health Department approval.
Contact the Unified Fire Authority for information regarding the required Fire Department inspection.
How Much Does a Business License Cost?
A commercial business license has different costs based on the type of business you operate:
Base Fee: $80
Fire Department Fee: $10
Police Department Fee: $10
Employee Fee: $6 per employee
Amusement Devices: $10 per device
There are also disproportionate fees for certain types of businesses. These fees include:

Amusement Halls, Arcades, Game Rooms: $70 per location
Apartments/Multiple Dwelling Rental Units: $10 per location in excess of 4 units
Financial Institutions: $550 per location
Fireworks Sales: $200 per location
Motion Picture Theatres: $100 per location
Nursing, Convalescent, or Alternative Care Center: $10 per bed
Restaurants, Fast Food, Delis, Take-Out: $225 per location
Retail Department Stores, including Food and Grocery Stores: $900 per location
