Does my Great Falls business need a business license?

Great Falls business licenses are not issued to businesses operating within the city limits of Great Falls. However, if your business is located outside of city limits but you conduct business in the city, a Non-Resident Great Falls Business License is required. A safety inspection is required for all businesses each year and a fee is collected based on the square footage of the business.

What about home-based businesses?

Home-based businesses are allowed in Great Falls for a nominal fee and depending on the nature of the business some other requirements might be necessary. Mainly this is done to ensure that the business does not affect the neighbors in a negative way.  

Are there any other requirements?

For businesses selling liquor, beer and wine licenses are required. Otherwise, telecommunication towers must obtain a building permit and are required to have a Non-Resident Business License.
