Do I need a business license before operating my business in Little Rock?
Anyone owning or operating a business within city limits is required to obtain a City of Little Rock Business License. This can be done online or requested by mail. Your business will need to be in compliance with the current zoning codes. Once the zoning has been approved, the application will be submitted to the Treasury Management Division, where a business account will be set up and the appropriate fees will be determined. What determines the cost of the business license?

Licenses expire at the end of the calendar year. If businesses are issued a business license after the beginning of the year, the charge will be prorated on a quarterly rate. If your business runs on a fiscal year, then a request can be submitted to pay on a fiscal year basis instead, but it must be approved. For businesses required to pay $5,000 or more per year, arrangements can be made for two installments.
