  4. No one living outside the residence is permitted to work in or for your business
  5. There can be no sales on the premises
  6. Off street parking must be maintained
  7. No vehicles (storage vans, delivery vehicles, pick-ups) which are related to the business should be kept on the premises

What information should you have for your business license application?

You will need to complete your business license application completely and accurately. To do so, there is specific information that will be needed.  You will need a physical address for your business, and all contact information including the business mailing address, business phone number and an e-mail address.  There needs to be a description of the business that you plan to operate.  If you plan to hire any employees, you will need to state how many you plan to hire.  If your business deals in rentals (hotel, motel, apartments) you will need to state the number of units.  If you have video machines or vending machines you need to provide the number you will have.

All owner information, including contact information, driver’s license information, the last four digits of their social security number and home address should be provided.  The application type (renewal, change of owner, name, address or classification) will need to be checked off.  The type of ownership will need to be provided as well, meaning whether the business is owned by a sole proprietor, is part of a LLC, a larger coporation, a trust or a non-profit.

You will need to date your application and provide a date in which your business will start.  If you have emergency contact information, there is space provided to supply it.  Once you complete your application, you need to sign it and then return it, with all applicable fees to the Business Finance Department at 276 Fourth Avenue in Chula Vista.
