To get a marriage license in Alameda, California, you will need to go in person together to the Alameda County Clerk-Recorder’s office in Oakland at 1106 Madison Street, Oakland, CA 94607. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is closed on holidays. Marriage license requests are only accepted before 4 p.m.

If you would like to request a civil ceremony, you can request one at the Alameda County Clerk-Recorder’s office any business day before 3:45 p.m. You must bring your own witnesses, and you can also invite up to 29 guests.
After the marriage ceremony, what do we need to do to receive our marriage certificate?
