I am looking for information on obtaining a Pompano Beach, Florida business tax receipt (business license).

Those planning to do business within the City of Pompano Beach will need to obtain a business tax receipt from City of Pompano Beach Department of Development Services Business Tax Receipt Division. You may request an application by visiting 100 West Atlantic Boulevard or you can download and print the application from the City of Pompano Beach website. 

Do I need zoning approval?

You will need to file a zoning certificate application before you apply for your business tax receipt and prior to leasing or purchasing any business property. You may download and print the zoning certificate application from the City of Pompano website or you may request it in person by visiting the Business Tax Receipt Division. They may be reached by phone at (954) 786-4633. Your application will require you to provide information on your proposed business location and your business activities. You will need to sign and date it to certify that all information that you are providing is true and accurate. What information will I need to provide for my Pompano Beach business tax receipt application?

You will need to provide your name and contact information, including a phone number, address, and email address. In addition, you will need to supply your social security number and your birthdate. The type of ownership your business is under should be stated, whether it is owned solely or by a partnership, a corporation, or an LLC. Provide a detailed description of your business activities. If your business activities include anything besides retail, wholesale, or manufacturing, you will be responsible for providing a floor and site plan as well. You will need to have a name for your business which has been approved, a physical and mailing address, a phone number, and an emergency contact number.

What other licenses and/or permits will I need to conduct my business?

You may need any number of separate licenses from either local, state, and/or federal entities beyond your business tax receipt.
